Our community is growing…

Our community is growing. If you’ve driven around the north end of Cambridge with your eyes open – hopefully you do that – or read the Cambridge Times recently, that’s an obvious fact.
Almost a stone’s throw from where we sit, lofts are being built. On the corner of Fisher Mills Road and Hespeler Road is another development. Along Maple Grove Road lies a flat piece of land with an almost open sales centre
Our community is growing. Eventually, these buildings will be completed. Moving trucks will pull into the parking lots and driveways. Furniture and boxes will fill rooms. Men and women and families will occupy these new homes. Where will they come from? Who will they be? What will they believe? More importantly, how are we going to reach them with the gospel?
We need to grow as our community continues to grow. We need to grow in the depth of our conviction that Jesus is the Light of the world, the Life of men, the Messiah, the Son of God, the King of kings. We need to grow in our urgency, our zeal, our passion to seek out people and invite them to come and see who Jesus is (see John 1:35-51).
As elders we are inviting our congregation to PRAY together, asking the Lord for a PLAN to PURSUE people with the gospel. Pray for the old, new, and future neighbourhoods close to where our church gathers. Pray that we would have open doors. Pray that we would have open mouths. Pray that we would meet open hearts.
As we study the gospel of John together as a congregation, let’s ask the Lord to use us to share with others that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, so that believing in Him, they can have life in His name!
